Each lesson guide is a downloadable PDF
We currently offer lesson plans focusing on architecture and history for Michigan and Mississippi educators. The Michigan lesson, developed by Kelly Lyons of Carnegie Mellon University, is designed to help fourth grade teachers interpret and use SAH Archipedia: Classic Buildings in classrooms across the state. The three Mississippi lessons (each one adapted for third through fifth grades, middle school, and high school) are designed to show how architecture is related to significant events in the civil rights movement. They were written by Charles M. Yarborough, who has nearly two decades of experience teaching history at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. He is the recipient of many awards, including 2011 Mississippi Historical Society Outstanding History Teacher. SAH encourages teachers to use these lesson plans freely; no permissions are necessary.
