Thornton Town Center

-A A +A
1989, L. J. Hooker Development. 10001 Grant St.

This “new generation” mall contains both municipal and commercial services. A massive, one-story, ordinary mall is distinguished by adobe-colored brick accented with aqua tile trim and roofing. The huge, barrel-vault roof arches over front and rear entries and in between becomes a skylight for the 100,000-square-foot atrium. The Town Center contains the metro area's largest supermarket and Cactus Moon, a high-tech country and western night club with a 6,000-square-foot, horseshoe-shaped dance floor adorned by a revolving glass saddle chandelier. From a mechanical horse you can rope a frisky mechanical calf in this neon-trimmed Old West wonderland.
