Commercial Bank and Trust

-A A +A
1907, Arthur M. Garbutt. 146 N. College Ave.

This one-story brick building with quartzite trim is a miniature Neoclassical gem. Pilasters divide three recessed, arched bays beneath a second-story brick false front with a large pediment and inscribed frieze. Since the 1970s restaurants have occupied the interior, which retains its Ionic pilasters, oak wain-scoting, fireplace, and walk-in vault.
