Elks Club (Webber Block)

Webber Block
1891. 1980s, renovation, Harry Teague. 219 S. Galena St. (northeast corner of Hyman Ave.)

Mayor Henry Webber's three-story business block has an angled corner entrance capped by a silvery dome. Peach Blow sandstone trim, half a million pressed red bricks, and a hefty metal cornice make this one of Aspen's finest landmarks. Innovative Harry Teague dutifully restored the exterior, then unleashed his creativity on a high-tech interior.
