Windstar Foundation

-A A +A
1980. 2317 Snowmass Creek Rd.

Singer John Denver, a longtime Aspen resident, founded this experimental facility to promote environmental concerns and pursue global peace. An existing ranch house was retrofitted as the solar demonstration and conference center. Buckminster Fuller designed the geodesic “biodome” (1983), where vegetables are grown year round. Other experimental shelters, including tipis, also adorn the grounds of Windstar.
