One of the few surviving trust-lot blocks of nineteenth-century commercial buildings, this row of eight attached properties was given a grander appearance through the embellishment of colossal fluted brownstone pilasters with wooden Corinthian capitals. The adjacent row of commercial buildings at 121–127 W. State Street retains the most elaborate and refined cast-iron shopfronts in the city. Number 127 (1873) is particularly exuberant.
