Just off historic SW 6th Avenue is this medieval castle-like structure. Constructed as a natatorium in 1922, it was adapted by Carlander for use as a ballroom in 1926. With its theatrical appearance, the building stands as the epitome of roadside kitsch. Carlander also designed the nearby Cazzell House (c. 1920) at 510 S. Florida Street and the Hubbell Duplex in 1925 at 3912 SW 6th, both in the Craftsman bungalow mode.
