Wichita Falls Farmers Market

-A A +A
1981, Harper Perkins Architects. 713 Ohio Ave.

Built on the site of the 1910 Union Passenger Station, which was demolished in 1968, the market is an open, U-shaped arcade with brick entrance arches and a cupola that are a Postmodern reprise of the no longer extant station. The market hosts local produce in season and can be used for outdoor event space. Although a low-key architectural statement, the market brings pedestrian activity to downtown streets.
