Woodland Heights Baptist Church

-A A +A
1916–1917, James M. McMichael. W. 31st St. and Springhill Ave.

This exuberant red brick Georgian Revival church with a full Ionic portico is one of the major landmarks of Woodland Heights. McMichael designed a number of Baptist churches in Virginia and North Carolina. As is typical of Baptist churches of the period, the interior is a large auditorium with a gallery in the rear.
