  • Carpenter Building (Michelle Krone)

Although refaced around 1890, this four-story brick building with cast iron detailing at street level retains some reminders of its original Venetian Revival ornament. The stripping away of ornamental upper floors and their replacement with a more bland brick facade indicates the new academic correctness of the turn of the twentieth century.
