This skyscraper was originally built as a bank headquarters. Above the heroic entrance portal framed by four massive in antis Ionic columns, the mass of the building diminishes slightly as it rises, accentuating its height. A comparison of its relative simplicity with Clinton and Russell's nearby Mutual Building (RI133) illuminates the tastes of different decades. The 1962 addition is clumsily joined to its parent, although some attempt was made to maintain the horizontal lines of the original building's windows.
