These two buildings were built by the Andrades in the same year, and well complement each other. The two-story, clapboard-sided Andrade hotel and restaurant's modest cavetto extends the cornice line of the adjacent, single-story, Ikeuchi and Sons building. That horizontal line, combined with the similarly designed corrugated awnings, helps to maintain continuity along the street. Bunso Ikeuchi acquired the corner property in 1928 to use as a hardware store.
