Conical roofs sheathed with acid-stained copper shelter the public areas of this private golf club. Designed to resemble the volcanic cinder cones dotting the landscape of Kona, the golf clubhouse is another venture by Group 70 International into the realm of an organic architecture reflecting the natural terrain. Lava rock encases the clubhouse's locker rooms and cart house, establishing yet another link to the land, while ohia timbers frame expanses of glass offering panoramic vistas from the mountains to the ocean.
