The design of this house was seemingly meant to be formidable and impressive. As with many similar houses, it is difficult to pin down stylistically. Overall, its massing and detailing are classical, but these features are used in a free fashion. The body of the building and its entrance porch are in brick; to the left side is a polygonal stair tower whose roof continues on into the main hipped roof. Hipped dormers add substance to the steeply pitched hipped roof.
