First Methodist Episcopal Church (now United Methodist)

-A A +A
now United Methodist
1907. Southeast corner of 6th St. and Kellogg Ave.

A large church auditorium seemed to be the first concern of the architect of this building. Having established this, he then proceeded to enrich the design, inside and especially outside. He articulated the roof by projecting gables into its two street elevations. At the corner he placed a wide octagonal bay; and at the peak of the roof, a small octagonal tower displays large “Gothic” windows.
