The Douglas house is a free and easygoing yet authoritative version of the Colonial Revival of the 1890s. An extensive pattern of large windows, including wide side lights and transom windows around the entrance, conveys a feeling of open acceptance of the suburban landscape. The brick wall and its gatepost, together with the entrance porch with paired columns, are formal but not pretentious. The house is now occupied by Turner Mortuary East.
