In addition to bridges, while one is touring around the county one should take note of the many stone farmhouses and barns. A good concentration of these buildings can be found on route G50 as it proceeds east from Winterset to the small town of Saint Charles. Almost all of these structures date from the late 1850s through the 1860s.
