A midwestern two-story box, this dwelling is sparsely clothed in Colonial Revival detail. The strong design element in the house is the play between the hip-roofed box and the semi-circular entrance porch with large Tuscan columns. Other Colonial details are the front entrance with side lights, and the simple but sophisticated narrow keystone (in wood) above each of the second-floor windows. These keystones terminate at the roof soffit, extend down over the plain lintel, and then penetrate the wood window frame.
