The French Romanesque style takes precedence in this building, though the corner tower plan and the high pitch of the main roof seem more Gothic. Compared to smaller Saint Joseph's ( ME237), the design of this church is correct, but on the dry side. The glass in the entrance gable facade, in the rose window, and in the wide lunette above the entrance is far more open than one usually experiences in a church that looks back to the Romanesque. The six-story tower with a spire is strongly reminiscent of the Romanesque in the south of France. Following French precedent, there is a series of three domes over the nave.
