Chickasaw County Courthouse

The present Beaux-Arts courthouse (1929) replaced a lively Italianate/French Second Empire building (1881). The newer building is of Bedford limestone. Its three-story mass was designed in a traditional, classical fashion, with the ground floor as a basement and the upper two floors articulated by wide pilasters. The principal entrance is emphasized by a low entrance porch and a clock face projecting above the parapet.
