This is a good instance of what is popularly thought of as Victorian “Carpenter's Gothic”; it is also an excellent illustration of how a design can be made up of separate parts seemingly casual in their assemblage. Around the upper section of the walls of the Akronplan sanctuary is a pattern of stunted Gothic arched windows; in some instances all the windows in the group are of the same size, in others the central window is higher. Glass bricks have been used to fill in the windows in the raised basement, and surprisingly this is a plus for the building.
