For his own house Mortimer Cleveland produced a two-story box sheathed in red brick that is in a style that probably began somewhere between the American and English Georgian; however, he somehow seems to have ended up with a house that conveys a sense of the Italian. A high, extended glass bay (almost Queen Anne in feeling) adjoins the entrance and its terrace. To reach the front door one must traverse the width of a low terrace.
