Like the post office building downtown, this version of the Beaux-Arts style is rich in details. A classical pedimented porch with angled sides provides the entrance to this single-story structure on a raised basement. The corners of the main block are cut and angled, and their surfaces are treated by a horizontal banding of stone, somewhat suggestive of quoining. Though the walls are of brick, the amount of stone ornamentation so predominates that the brick appears as an infill. The building's location on a small knoll, together with its steeply pitched hipped roof covered in tile, enhances its presence within the surrounding residential district.
