This massive Dutch Colonial Revival house has prominent crow-stepped gables. Its red brick is laid in English bond. The foyer contains murals depicting Robin Hood and Ivanhoe painted by Grand Rapids artist Mathias Alten. Frederick P. Wilcox (1857–1912) moved from New York State and practiced law in Grand Rapids.
