Carl Gustav Adolph and Elizabeth S. W. Voigt House

This red brick Queen Anne house, a late work by Grand Rapids architect Robinson, is one of the finest in Heritage Hill. The interior is richly finished with carved woodwork, parquet floors, stained glass windows, and tapestry and silk wall coverings. Voigt (1833–1908) started a mercantile business with W. G. Herpolsheimer and later owned and operated the Voigt Milling Works, selling flour throughout the United States. The Grand Rapids Public Museum owns the Voigt house and opens it for special events. It is filled with Voigt family furnishings.
