The Southwest Detroit Business Association (SDBA) believes that the renovated Odd Fellows Hall, which it now owns, will serve as an anchor to its neighborhood and a magnet for economic development and job creation for the Latinos of Southwest Detroit and Dearborn's Middle Eastern immigrants. The building is in the mixed-use Lawndale Station development in a walkable neighborhood with houses and apartments.
The historic red brick building with green tilework in the second-story window arches has stores, office space for nonprofits, and a large ballroom for cultural and social events. The renovation was financed with historic preservation tax credits, state and city grants, and small business and brownfield tax credits, and included a Michigan Economic Development Corporation Cool Cities grant.
