Apartments (Dormitory)

In contrast to the houses on the hill, this one-story, wood-frame building typifies the simple style of architecture used to house single male workers in the Lower Town. The clapboard-sided dwelling stands close to the road, its double-entry vestibule extending straight out from the center of the front. In the 1930s Kennecott converted most of these dormitories into apartments for married workers, who had largely replaced single men by this time. The building is located in what was a row of dormitories across the street from the old McGill Clubhouse.
