McGill Clubhouse

-A A +A
1915–1918. 8 N. 4th St.

This massive brick building is located in an area of McGill that was primarily residential. In addition to housing single men, it served as a clubhouse and community center for employees and their families. The third story was added in 1918 to the original two. Brick piers rising a full two stories give the building a simple classical appearance. The Mormons acquired the building in 1958 and used it as a church until they erected a new house of worship nearby in the 1980s.
