Another of the city's Gothic Revival churches, it followed the urban church type with the sanctuary on the upper level and offices and Sunday school below. In 1926, the famed Boston ecclesiastical architects were given the task of converting the interior into something resembling an English medieval church. By eliminating the floor of the upper sanctuary and creating an interior arcade, the architects were able to arrive at a convincing interior that is among the most surprising spaces of any church in eastern Pennsylvania. They also designed the Sunday school addition to the north.
