The road west began with the Conestoga Road. It became the site of several important eighteenth-century houses of worship. Of note is this early but much-altered stone Methodist church that recalls similarly sized and detailed buildings in the north that were built of wood, such as that in West Burlington, Bradford County ( BR20). The second story may have been added in 1855, and the front entrance was added in 1931. Even more recent is the unfortunate Sunday school that now frames the view of this interesting early survivor.
