Connecticut Yankees were not the only settlers in the region after the Revolutionary War. Significant numbers of Pennsylvania Germans settled in Hanover Township, downriver from Forty Fort. Similar to the Forty Fort meetinghouse ( LU42), the building shows the quick adoption of New England–style wood frame construction by Pennsylvania German settlers. Today a historic and modern cemetery surrounds the meetinghouse, but it retains its early-nineteenth-century integrity.
