The Inn at New Berlin (Jacob Schoch House)
Built as a summer home for wealthy Philadelphian Jacob Schoch, this house is a free classical version of the Queen Anne style. The tall faceted spire on the turret dominates the roofline, while below, a classical portico with a pediment and paired columns form the entrance to the side porch. The tastefully painted house is now a bed-and-breakfast. A gaudier “painted lady” stands at 418–422 Market Street. This multigabled and multicolored house and milliner's shop has an assortment of circular and oval windows and a curved spindlework porch.
