The most prominent of the forty structures remaining on the Charlestown side of Carolina, this church was originally located south of the village on land donated by mill owner Rowland Hazard. The Greek Revival building was moved to its present site twenty years later. Its granite block foundation raises the wood-framed block at the street side an entire floor. The small, square belfry sits at the peak of the street-end gable. The interior was renovated during the move and later in the 1880s.
