This square, gable-on-hip-roofed house with a four-bay front elevation and central chimney is larger and more formally organized than the Claggett House (preceding entry). Four windows to one side of the elevation and three windows and a door to the other side are very consciously grouped with an interval of wall down the middle of the building, over which a dormer sits. The transomed door, though simple, is, like the size of the house for this format, imposing. Inside, a very substantial kitchen fireplace and boxed-in stairs with stubby, bulky balusters reinforce, by their medieval quality, the early eighteenth-century date.
