These remains are named in the erroneous belief that they belong to a famed seventeenth-century structure associated with Fort Henry. Although not that early, there was an eighteenth-century stone structure here that once served as an ammunition magazine for the city and as a feed store until it was largely destroyed by fire in the late 1970s.
