This Italianate house for a partner in a cotton firm has a low hipped roof with spreading brackets and cupola (here octagonal) characteristic of the style. Distinctive in its unelaborated vernacular treatment is the pairing of elements in the front elevation: paired posts for the porch and paired windows behind, all nicely spaced (except for a too massive door, which may have been somewhat altered).
