Adjacent to Roy Carpenter's Beach is Browning Beach, a nature sanctuary. It offers a distant view of a fine row of four shingled cottages well above a wave-scooped beach, interrupted by one post World–War II modernist house. Unpretentious but modestly luxurious, they exemplify the ideals of the Craftsman movement at a high level of achievement, three of them allusively bungalows, one a chalet. They seem a world away from Roy Carpenter's populous enclave.
