In 1913 planning was begun for a church to replace the historic Bethany Meeting House (
BR5), which had become too small and was considered old fashioned. Gothic in style, and large by Bethany town standards, the brick building has a prominent crenellated tower close to the major street intersection. Gabled walls containing large, traceried, arched windows flanked by pinnacled buttresses protrude beyond the body of the church, which is covered with a massive hipped roof. J. Charles
