Bellvue (1882, 5,124 feet) occupies a site where fur trappers buried excess supplies and gunpowder. This was the cache for which the Cache la Poudre River is named. Merchant Jacob Flowers founded the town in 1882 as a supply center for the mountain mining camps of Lulu City and Teller City.
