Albion

-A A +A

Established at the forks of the Kalamazoo River, Albion grew as a milling community into a small industrial town. New Yorkers arrived in 1835, created the Albion Company to plat the town and sell property. The village was incorporated in 1855 and became a city in 1885. The Methodist Episcopal settlers founded Albion College (see CA24) in 1835.
