Westcave Preserve

-A A +A
2004, Robert Jackson and Michael McElhaney. 24814 Hamilton Pool Rd., 31 miles northwest of downtown Austin

The Westcave Preserve is an environmental learning center owned by the Lower Colorado River Authority and maintained on their property in West Austin. The curved roof, limestone walls, and deep overhangs combined with ground-source heating and cooling, solar energy panels, and rainwater harvesting support the mission of the preserve and are a successful expression of Texas regionalist style.
