Although the picturesque towered villa and the symmetrical Colonial Revival showplace were architecturally antithetical house types, it was not unusual to find the two combined in Texas in the early years of the twentieth century. This house is a good example of how these opposites were merged, with the corner tower implanted to one side of the centered front door and the columned gallery angled out and around to encompass it.
