Kenedy Ranch Museum (Kenedy Pasture Company Building)

Similar to communities not originally planned as county seats, construction around the courthouse square is mainly residential. An exception is this building, now functioning as the Kenedy Ranch Museum. The rehabilitated two-story Spanish Mediterranean design by the Corpus Christi–based firm has crisp classical details, and formerly housed the Kenedy Ranch business office in its ground floor. The second-story apartments were used by the Kenedy family for overnight stays away from their main residence at La Parra, six miles to the east. The elegant, double-arched carriage house at the rear is now the media center for the museum.
