This residential neighborhood contains some of the city's finest historic houses dating from the turn of the twentieth century. While not officially designated as a historic district, the neighborhood contains many Queen Anne and Prairie School–influenced houses, and a number of bungalows. The house at 516 N. 9th Street is a curious juxtaposition of several modes turning around a corner crenellated tower.
