Gordon designed this two-story, wood-framed, vertically massed Queen Anne house accentuated by balustrades and turned wooden columns for Thomas H. Franklin, an attorney in one of the best firms in the city at the time, Denman, Franklin and McGown. Wide wraparound two-story porches clad in wooden shingles break the verticality of the house, as well as the windows of various sizes and shapes, including arched heads, square openings, and coupled bays.
