Hamburg is a centrally planned village and was named for the city in Germany. It made the transition to the industrial economy in large measure because of its position on the Schuylkill River. It is now notable for two commercial centers, the spectacular Cabela's outfitters store ( BE18) and the Miniature Village at Shartlesville ( BE19).
