The two-story building has a stylized clerestory monitor roof and a rich series of shed roofs at lower levels. Corresponding to the dramatic profile are the dramatic interior corridor spaces. The exterior has stained wood siding. The laboratory is reminiscent of barn design but in a rich improvisation that seems appropriate both to its function and to its rural setting.
