Denver & Rio Grande Depot

-A A +A
1875. Southwest corner of S. Rio Grande and W. Crestline aves. in Town Center Park

One of Colorado's oldest depots, this rectangular single-story beauty is of ashlar rhyolite hauled by the D&RG from the Castle Rock quarries in Douglas County. The once standard small-town design has a side-gable roof of new corrugated metal, with overhanging eaves supported by elbow brackets with acorn finials. In 1981 Littleton restored the depot, now in the Town Center Park, to its 1910 appearance.
