Named for a major donor, Greenwood developer Walter Koelbel, this $6 million, 45,000-square-foot structure is a welcome understatement among the many grandiose homes and office towers surrounding it. Patrons enter through the upper level of what appears to be a low, red brick building enhanced by a course of red sandstone. A gray concrete tile roof is accented by copper trim and downspouts. The rotunda entry is bright and open, enhanced by white marble tile and murals. The bay windows incorporate inviting seats, and low doorways guard the children's area.
