Brighton Municipal Building(Adams County Courthouse)
1906, John J. Huddart. 1939, remodeling, Richard O. Perry and Lester L. Jones. 22 S. 4th Ave. (southeast corner of Bridge St.)
The original courthouse, three brick stories with limestone trim, once had a steep tile roof and a cupola. A 1939 WPA renovation removed these, along with the top-floor courtroom, and added a carefully detailed west addition and new main entrance in a full-height, pedimented portico. Trim on the addition is concrete that closely resembles the original limestone, with recessed brick spandrels and a foundation of green-glazed brick.
